2022-2023 Season

Game 4

Date: 08/10/2022
Opponent: Cookley
Result: 10-0

There is so much to say about how proud we are of the girls today as we kicked off against a new opponent Cookley.  We went into the game with a positive mindset the girls all in good spirits and raring to kick-off.   With a new unknown opponent, the first 15 minutes of a game are often what determines the outcome, with a series of battles taking place.   The girls really came out fast, alert and ready to set the tempo, dominating all areas of the pitch.  The team is really maturing into a well-rounded team with the defenders looking solid and composed, midfielders who probe with deadly precision and forwards who are permanently creating great opportunities.   Individually it is great to see these areas improve, but today it was really obvious that how these areas link together is also growing week on week.  The passing and interchange between these areas was precise and varied making it very hard for the opponent to really play their game.  By half time they had set themselves up to really break down the team even more, as the game got further and further away from the opposition.

I would also like to commend the opposition and coaches for continuing to try and play attacking football and not just retreat behind the ball as we have seen other teams do in the past.

Game 3

Date: 01/10/2022
Opponent: Evesham
Result: 2-0

This week we played away against a tough Evesham team with a game plan.  It's safe to say that although it wasn't us at our best, we battled well and ultimately broke down a very defensive team and put away our chances.  The keepers both pulled off some great saves and we to relieve some pressure during the match.

The true strength of a team is sometimes shown when things don't always go your way and this week those little bits of quality shone through!

Game 2

Date: 24/09/2022
Opponent: Kingfishers
Result: 7-1

Second game of the season saw Worcester play last year's rivals.  All we can say is........what a game!  All the training and preparation really is starting to pay dividends.  Every area of the team from the defenders through to attackers worked hard, kept a great shape and (a very important AND) looked composed on the ball.  The team looked today like a well-oiled machine, and you can really see the trust our players have for each other.  We set the tempo of play for 90% of the game and the result really reflected all the hard work the girls have been putting in!

All in all, an outstanding performance from a team that is growing from week to week.

2022-2023 Season

Game 1

Date: 17/09/2022
Opponent: Meadow Park Away
Result: 10-1

First game of the season saw the girls clash against Meadow Park, who won the Stourport league last season. This game was a real unknown as we haven't played them in a few years.  We prepared for a tough battle, and the girls certainly didn't disappoint.  We opened the game up from the first blow of the whistle, dictating the pace and tempo of what was to follow.  The defence held a solid line and the attacking part of the team closed down every ball, giving the opposition no time to find a rhythm.  The performance was truly outstanding, resulting in a half time lead of 9 goals!

Once again the team are showing even more signs of improvement, especially in their passing and movement.  As parents, coaches and the manager we couldn't be more proud!

2022-2023 Season

Preseason Friendly

Date: 03/09/2022
Opponent: Nunnery Wood

The first game back for the Girls was a massive 15-1 victory for Worcester.  The girls were well organised and are starting to pass the ball with real finesse, something they have been working hard on in training.   It was also great to see that they have kept their discipline, shape and drive to move the ball in to threatening positions.
